How to Get Motivated to Lose Weight With Diet and Exercise
If you are asking yourself how to get motivated to lose weight, you have made the first step in the journey. The next step is taking that journey and making it a priority. For many people the journey takes many months or even years, but with the right motivation you will be off on your way in no time at all. The first step is learning what this type of motivation looks like. In my case it was weight loss awareness and this took me to online forums and articles on losing weight.
I am not a huge fan of the word "mindfulness" when it comes to losing weight. What I found is that the more mindful I became of the process, the easier it became. When you are mindful of your journey, the harder it becomes. You start to see it as a journey and instead of viewing it from a negative perspective you view it as a series of steps along the journey. This type of mindset is what I was looking for and I am sure it helped me on my weight loss journey.
Once I started to view my weight loss journey this way, I had to be more mindful of food. Mindfulness is the key to getting any type of motivated action. You have to put yourself in the right frame of mind and be fully prepared to act. This is where the mindfulness part of my weight loss motivation plan comes into play.
The third step in my how to get motivated to lose weight journey was exercise. Exercise has to be part of your daily routine. I found exercising at my local gym not only gave me the motivation I needed, but it was enjoyable as well. It forced me to become more active and I fell into a routine of exercise that is beneficial to lasting weight loss. You need to find something that you enjoy doing and stick with it.
The fourth step in my how to get motivated to lose weight plan was to set goals. You have to be clear about what you want to accomplish and write these goals down. Then start small and build up to your final goals.
The fifth step in my how to get motivated to lose weight plan was to make myself an accountability partner. My accountability partner was my husband. We have been married almost fifteen years now and I have lost more than a few pounds by following his guidance and practice. As an accountability partner, I was responsible for maintaining the proper weight for me and for eating the proper foods. This gave me a sense of control and I was motivated to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The final step in my how to get motivated to lose weight plan was to use my inspiration and perseverance to keep me on track. If I had failed at all of the previous steps, I would have given up on my goal to lose weight. If I did not succeed at each step, then I knew that it was not going to work. This kept me motivated and I was able to maintain all of the steps because I knew that I could follow them.
This is an overall look at weight-loss motivation. It does not matter if you are losing weight or trying to gain weight, you need to have goals and a plan to work toward achieving your goals. It does not matter if you are trying to maintain your current weight or you are trying to lose weight. A good way to start your weight-loss plan is to have a goal and to find a way to motivate yourself to reach your goals. This will help you stick to your weight-loss plan and you will soon achieve the results you desire.
